Job Purpose and Impact

This role is active in our Bio-Energy business which has been growing fast in the last years and extending it’s product portfolio and footprint. The role is about managing the rail sourcing and operations activities, being part of a transportation function and nested in Bio-energy business.

The Rail Logistics Coordinator (Bio Energy) will evaluate routine to difficult and varied distribution and transportation operations, data and facilities to identify the most effective distribution and transportation patterns for products. In this role, you will conduct data management, reporting and analysis, shipping, client interaction, business partnership and people, resource, budget and project management.

The role can only be located in either Frankfurt, Ghent or Dusseldorf.

Key Accountabilities
  • Vendor management processes; Support CTL EMEA Rail lead with the freight contract negotiation, spends analysis, carrier selection, negotiations onboarding, contract negotiations, compliance and relationship management and drive carrier performance improvements.
  • Analyze and project transportation costs, coordinating customs clearances and permits.
  • Plan, execute, control and implement processes related to materials and finished goods storage and movement.
  • Perform data entry updates using spreadsheets and databases based on sales orders and contracts, interpret and analyze data and communicate results to more senior team members for further analysis.
  • Evaluate, select and foster ongoing relationships with external transport providers.
  • Use comprehensive knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry, focused on rail expertise, to make recommendations to establish good customer relations.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Lead continuous improvements projects and participate in cross-functional / country projects as relevant
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience
  • Fluency German and English required
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply
