Summary:

The work schedule for this position is: Full-Time (38 hours per week)


Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (15 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

Serves as customer service representative and assistant for the Regional Security Office, Residential Security unit and is the first point of contact for all visitors and outside callers to the office. Acts as liaison between Residential Security Coordinators (RSC), security vendors, GSO Housing, GSO Procurement, Financial Management Office, and the Facility Management Office. Schedules appointments for the unit. Receives quotes for equipment/services from vendors, enters and tracks procurement requests, and follows up with vendors and internal Embassy offices as required. He/she also provides clerical and administrative support to the RSO office staff, and completes specific RSO administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: One year progressively responsible office experience that combined/included receptionist/customer service responsibilities and an administrative/clerical assistant role.


JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of basic office procedures. An understanding of the importance of customer service and the fundamental principle of confidentiality needed in an RSO office environment.

Education Requirements:

High school diploma or the equivalent is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Fluency in English, good working knowledge of Dutch and French.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Very good computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office suite. Good typing skills. Outstanding customer service skills. Considerable tact, diplomacy, discretion, common sense, good judgement, and strong communication skills are essential.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Brussels may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
