PerkinElmeris looking for Scientific Services SpecialistLocation: Braine-l’Alleud, BelgiumSummaryIn this role you are responsible to uphold a professional relationship with the client as well as for the maintenance and validation of analytical laboratory instruments and their accessories mainly at one specific customer site. Efficient use of time and a good preparation of your own work are essential. You will follow the universally defined precautions to ensure all work is done safely. Additionally, you will attend training sessions and technical workshops and you take care of the associated service documentation. The communication from the client to the OneSource service engineer will initially go through the onsite helpdesk or OSCC.Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for maintaining professional contacts with the client, relieving the client of any concern during all phases of the job with the goal of maintaining customer satisfaction in the area of service and support and enhancing the relationship with the client by identifying and reporting complaints
  • Responsible for communicating with the customer (with/via the onsite helpdesk or OSCC) about activities and providing information about schedules of planned and unplanned maintenance
  • Responsible for the registration of sales leads
  • Responsible for communicating with the customer (via specific reporting) about the instrument status Result: Achieving superior customer satisfactions that meet the objectives of PerkinElmer 2. Operational services
  • Responsible for the execution of repairs, maintenance and validation of laboratory instruments and their accessories driven by the one source service organization from PerkinElmer
  • Responsible for ensuring that all tools and test equipment are calibrated and valid to perform service required

  • Responsible for ensuring service within set compliance boundaries Result: The achievement of the set KPI’s in accordance of the signed Sales Agreement for Lab Support Services 3. Development
  • Responsible for keeping knowledge of serviced instruments up-to-date, inclusive instruments, software and other peripherals
  • Participating in external and internal training courses in the field of technical skills, personal development and organizational development
  • Responsible for taking measures on behalf of oneself and the customer, regarding safety, health and environment
  • Providing an active contribution to meetings such as the service meetings Result: To maintain and develop knowledge and skills for your role as a Scientific Services Specialist
Requirements
  • Graduate degree with relevant years of experience or equivalent in chemistry or biochemistry
  • 2 years of experience as lab technician working with analytical laboratory equipment is a plus
  • Proven interpersonal and team skills
  • Ability to work under time constraints, maintain alertness and concentration, work safely with potential electrical, chemical, radiologic, and biologic hazards using universal precautions
  • Languages: French and English both spoken and written. Dutch is a plus
  • Internet and Microsoft Windows skills (Word/Excel)
  • Experience in GMP/GLP is a plus
