ESG has therefore emerged as a key topic, with stakeholders seeking greater standards to promote accountability and incorporate sustainability factors into credit ratings, covenants and legislation pertaining to corporate governance and communication.

Stakeholders’ expectations and regulatory initiatives are pushing companies to provide more transparency and better explain how they serve the broader public interest in society, and they are willing to safeguard shareholders’ value by considering all risks and opportunities, including those relating to ESG.

The financial and economic implications of climate and ESG matters are manifesting in a measurable way. That’s why many investors care. That’s why an increasing number of regulators care. And that’s why there’s such a push to rapidly mature the progress made over the past years into investor-grade information that’s timely, comparable, consistent and reliable.

As a Senior Consultant in our ESG Assurance team, you will play a key role in leading and managing the delivery of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting and assurance services to clients. You will provide strategic guidance, oversee engagements and drive the development of innovative ESG solutions. More concretely you will provide sustainability reporting advisory and readiness services, perform assurance on sustainability information and be involved in our ESG due diligence services.

You will be joining a multi-disciplinary, international team, where you will work across a diverse portfolio of clients. You’ll attend and facilitate training programmes to develop your technical and leadership skills and have a personal coach who will help bring out the best in you.

You Will Support Our Clients By

• Leading and managing ESG assurance engagements, including scoping, planning, risk assessment and execution;
• Providing subject matter expertise on ESG regulations, standards and best practices;
• Engaging with clients to understand their ESG reporting and assurance challenges and provide tailored solutions;
• Enhancing their risk management framework to incorporate ESG risk factors;
• Identifying, quantifying and prioritizing the materiality of ESG factors on the activities of our clients and deriving financial risk impacts under different scenarios;
• Supporting their sustainability journey from double materiality to reporting;
• Advising on and reviewing sustainability reports;
• Following-up of evolving regulatory requirements and expectations in the field of ESG (CSRD, ESRS, EU Taxonomy, CSDDD, ISSA 5000,…);
• Performing ESG Due Diligences.

• Mentoring and coaching junior team members, and contributing to their professional development;
• Contributing to the leadership and business development efforts in the ESG space and contributing to proposals;
  
  

Let’s Talk About You

• You have 2 to 4 years of professional experience
• You have relevant/first experience in ESG (strategy, reporting, assurance) and are motivated to further develop your skills
• You have a first experience or a keen interest in the field of decarbonization strategies, impact measurement and sustainability reporting
• Proven track record in dealing with sustainability challenges, such as sustainable strategy, sustainable investments and sustainability reporting
• Prior experience in the field of risk management (experience in the integration of sustainability risks in management frameworks is an added value)
• Prior consulting and/or (financial) audit background is an advantage, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of ESG frameworks, such as ESRS, GRI, GHG protocol SASB, TCFD, …;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (English and Dutch)
• Ability to work effectively in a team and build relationships with clients
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools would be advantageous
