System Technician

As the Airport business continues to grow, ADB Safegate is looking to reinforce the Zaventem team in Belgium with an additional colleague to support our project team as System Technician.

The role of the System Technician will be to support the team in its daily activities, ensuring the follow-up of hardware orders, preparation of setups, configuration of IT and Automation equipment, testing of the Solutions and ensuring the preparation for deliveries.

He/she will support the team with:

1. Follow up of Hardware orders and deliveries

2. Support Systems setup preparation, configuration of equipment and testing

3. Maintain the hardware databases and liaise with suppliers.

The Team:

The Project Engineering team produces and installs Airfield Lighting Control and monitoring System (ALCMS), which is used by the Air Traffic Controllers operating the Airport Tower to support the landing and take-off of aircrafts as well as by Technical Users maintaining the airport.

The airport business is transforming and we need clever talents that will help ADB Safegate provide the airports with new solutions where environmental sustainability and customer perceived values will be the key factor.

In short the job of the Project engineering team is to meet a set of technical requirements for the project by :

• Specifying the System Architecture, Functional description and Human Machine Interface (HMI) for the users,
• Buying and handling the hardware for the system which mainly consist of Computers, Network equipment and PLCs controlling Airfield Lighting Equipment,
• Taking care of configuring the platform software, make functional testing and at the customers site install and commission the systems and train the users.

The Zaventem office is part of a greater System Engineering department and cooperates with other similar teams delivering ALCMS from the ADB Safegate offices in Denmark, Germany, Finland, China and US.

Skills & requirements:

• You have a passion for all IT-related topics and gained knowledge by following relevant education (this could be evening school, or a Bachelor degree, ...)
• You have some experience in IT support
• Great English proficiency is a must, at least one other language is required (Dutch, French,...)
• User knowledge of Windows
• Great knowledge of MS Office suite
• Interest in and a willingness to continuously learn new technologies is key in this role.
• Experience in working with IT equipment.

Great assets:

• User knowledge of network communication on TCP/IP
• User knowledge of Siemens PLC S7
• User Knowledge of Siemens Win CC or other brand of SCADA systems
• Experience in working with PLC and SCADA packages is a plus
• Experience in electrical work, testing or other quality activities related jobs is a plus.
