Materialise Software provides companies with a platform of software tools that manages and controls the 3D printing (additive manufacturing) process more efficiently, allowing them to meet the highest standards of the most demanding industries. We have built a strong market position with our flagship product, Magics 3D Print Suite, as a desktop product. For several years, we have heavily invested in the cloudification of our products and are extending our portfolio with SaaS-based solutions. These new products are in full development and are, to a limited extent, available in the market under the brand name CO-AM. To accelerate the development of CO-AM, Materialise Software acquired two US-based companies in 2022.
These companies are now integrated into the Software organization. While the development takes place in Belgium, Germany, Ukraine, and the USA, we sell our products globally. To guarantee the realization of strategy and strategy execution, we are looking for a Vice President who will be responsible for the profit/loss of the unit and report directly to the CEO.

What you will do
  • Draw up and implement the strategy and business plan of the Software Business Unit to ensure the strategic long-term goals are achieved
  • Give special attention to the sales and marketing strategy as the S&M organization is transitioning from a product company into a solutions company
  • Give direction to the business unit and follow up on the duration, cost, and means of the activities to realize the set objectives
  • Coach and develop your Global Management Team to ensure their competencies, skills, and know-how are best used to work as a well-aligned team
  • Manage the budget of the Software business unit to organize the different activities and guarantee results within the financial plan
  • Be a contributive leader to the Directors Committee, representing the Software BU, driving collaboration to achieve the company’s growth, vision, and strategy
  • Identify growth opportunities based on market analysis and close contact with the end customer and deliver marketing strategies to turn opportunities into executable growth plans
  • Stay well-informed about developments related to our products and services, and keep your knowledge up-to-date in order to strengthen the value proposition canvas
Your profile
  • You enjoyed a successful career within leadership roles in the software or similar high-tech industry
  • You show and act upon distinctive strategic thinking
  • You use quantitative and qualitative targets to execute the strategy and achieve your objectives
  • Experience in a company moving from on-premise to cloud solutions is a plus
  • You have experience in leading a unit that combines sustainable operations with innovation and growth
  • You have proven and excellent people management skills
  • Your interpersonal skills are key for long-term relationships with different stakeholders
  • Your outstanding business understanding allows you to see and create new opportunities and translate them into specific business requirements
  • You are proactive, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and show perseverance
  • You have strong communication skills in English
