Purpose of the Mission (project & department description)

Within the R&D SPO department, the mission of the Visual Analytics Expert will be to:

Interact with business stakeholders, but also technical colleagues to capture the user requirements in terms of visual analytics
Contribute to architect, configure and maintain the visual analytics platform so that it allows seamlessly addressing current and upcoming business needs
Deliver state of the art visual analytics and provide self-service users with expert guidance.
to support the Project Management community with analytics and reporting initiatives, with a focus on project management, resource demand, allocation, and capacity.

What you’ll do

Engaging with functional and business stakeholders to capture and understand their visual analytics related reporting needs and document the associated requirements
Recommending the best technical approach for addressing these needs through the visual analytics platform while ensuring the maintainability of the system over time
Configuring / administrating the system in line with the agreed technical solution. Leveraging on modern data visualization and analytics technologies to create dynamic business dashboards to effectively communicate and bring key insights to life for customers
Ensure documentation and work are done as per agile methodology (incl. in Azure DevOps)
Collaborating with business stakeholders in the development of visual reports
Ensuring (both informally and formally) that the system meets user requirements before deployment in production environment

Profile

Bachelor / master degree in computer science complemented with relevant experience
Broad knowledge of and experience with the visual analytics solution (e.g. TIBCO Spotfire, Microsoft Power BI), its configuration/administration and its underlying architecture
Practical experience with the development of reports through the visual analytics solution and knowledge of the associated best practices (incl. mobile portability)
Demonstrate expertise and experience in delivering solutions to production via Continous Integration/Continuous Delivery
Use these data visualisations to postively influence decision making and challenge the way business owners traditionaly think
Previous experience with the technical integration of the visual analytics solution with external data sources like the ones listed below:
Oracle databases
Microsoft Azure
Programming languages (e.g. R statistical programming)
Microsoft Azure technologies
Knowledge of the pharmaceutical environment is an asset

Required Skills

Strong Power BI, SQL expertise along with UI/graphics design experience
UI/graphics design is preferred, but not required
Good knowledge in Microsoft Power BI / Power Query with advanced skills (querying, data modeling, function M/DAX, Visual, …)
