Location:Ideally Antwerp, Belgium but other European locations considered

Positioning:Reporting to CFO Group Sibelco

Role Purpose:

As a member of the Finance Leadership team, the VP Finance Europe will provide leadership and coordination of company financial planning, debt financing, and budget management functions and ensure company accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles within the European region. The VP Finance Europe will be the finance partner for the VP Commercial Europe and VP Operations Europe in managing the P&L at European level. The VP Finance Europe will manage the Finance directors of the European Sub-Region, who will in their role be a key stakeholder in sub-region P&L management.

Europe is by far Sibelco’s largest region, with almost ¾ of the group’s revenue, from France to Russia and from Norway to Egypt. As part of a global transformation, we are looking for someone with will already have led such a transition period successfully.

You will have a solid base to work from and your first task will be to settle the organisation, before moving on to continuous improvement.

A solid experience of rolling out SAP and guiding teams through a tough process is vital. So is the natural ability to partner with the business (operations and commercial) and understanding how they work together efficiently. You are able to translate figures into useful information for the business to make impactful decisions.

Finally, you are an empathetic and patient leader who will help people through the transition.

Responsibilities:

Strategy

Provide leadership in the development of financials for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.

Provide recommendations to the EVP Commercial Europe and EVP Operations Europe to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.

People Management

Attract, lead, coach, appraise and develop the functional team, ensuring staffing, and stimulating talent management (workforce & succession planning, performance management, …) through full reporting lines.

• Manage, coordinate, coach and develop the Finance function in Europe

• Line manager (full reporting line) for the team.

• Foster well trained and motivated staff.

• Ensure the development of organizational capability in the team

• Create and maintain a good work climate, stimulate empowerment, engagement and cooperation, fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion, employee well-being and continuous improvement.

Finance Policies

Ensure accurate and compliant implementation and execution of group finance policies throughout the European teams.

Reporting

Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts

Manage the financial reporting at group level.

Compliance

Ensure that adequate internal controls are in place

Plan and perform risk management duties

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements

Company representative

Represent the company externally to government agencies, auditors, and the general public

About you:

With amaster’s degree in finance, accounting or business with strong accounting experienceand+10 years experience in a senior management finance or accounting position, you must also have a solid experience of really partnering with the business (operations and commercial) and of rolling out SAP in an industrial setting.
