As a Group Legal Counsel, you will be part of the corporate Tax & Legal department of the Unilin Group. We are a dynamic team which strives to provide high quality legal support to the different business divisions of Unilin Group with respect to commercial contract drafting and negotiating, corporate projects (M&A, restructuring, JV’s etc.), corporate housekeeping of Unilin Group entities, litigations, real estate transactions, the Unilin Group trademark portfolio and general legal compliance (GDPR, etc.). You will enjoy the advantage of being part of a large international group while the corporate headquarters of Unilin Group are located in Belgium.

To support the continuous growth of Unilin Group, the legal department is seeking reinforcements and we are looking for a pragmatic, dynamic and enthusiastic legal professional to help support our businesses:

• Your main focus will be on the drafting and negotiating of different types of commercial contracts (CAPEX, sales, distribution, consultancy, raw materials sourcing, real estate etc.).
• You will be the main point of contact within the legal team for the drafting, updating and roll-out of templates and legal training in order to optimize the contract review process.
• You will provide general legal advice, monitor disputes and litigations and will liaise with internal clients and external advisors where required.
• You also have knowledge of and interest in general corporate law so you can advise and support the business in corporate projects (such as restructurings; corporate changes, etc.) where we typically work with external advisers (accountants, notaries, law firms, etc.).
• You will identify, analyze and mitigate legal risks on all levels, formulating clear recommendations and assuring legal compliance.
• You will be a true business partner and will manage your own projects independently in a solution oriented way and you will work in close cooperation with internal stakeholders (finance, treasury, accounting etc.).
• You will report to the Group Legal Manager.
  
  

PROFILE

• You have a Master in Law and +/- 5 to 10 years of experience, ideally a combination of experience at the bar and as an in-house legal counsel in an international industry environment;
• Strong experience in commercial law in all its aspects and in negotiating commercial contracts in an international business environment;
• You have excellent communication skills (written and oral) in Dutch, English and French and good knowledge of German is considered a strong plus;
• You like to work in a demanding environment with strict deadlines and numerous stakeholders in a global organization;
• You are straight forward, hands on and flexible and you have a pro-active and pragmatic attitude;
• You are punctual, analytical, attentive to detail and well organized and have excellent contract drafting skills;
• You are able to build and maintain relationships and communicate effectively with internal clients and external advisors and you are convincing towards colleagues to accept legally sound solutions;
• You are entrepreneurial and you take ownership and have solid project management skills;
• You are a team player with strong interpersonal skills but you are able to work independently and autonomously;
• Solid understanding of an entity’s financial statements and its consequences is a plus.
