Holcim Belgium’s Supply Chain and Purchasing Departmentserves operations and support functions at national and local level. Responsible for external expenditure, including capital expenditure, the department interacts with the Group Supply Chain and Purchasing Department. The Supply Chain and Purchasing organization manages the interface with operations, functional departments, suppliers and Group teams.

To strengthen our department, we are looking for an experienced

Interim Category Manager Raw Materials and Packaging

to:

• negotiate contracts and tenders with suppliers, with the aim of optimizing expenditure
• manage and optimize the supplier panel by category in terms of quantity and quality.
• provide reporting on specific issues within the scope of the category.
• monitor savings.
• define the strategy of this category for the different industrial activities: Cement, Aggregates, Concrete, Geocycle, Solutions & Products.

You will interact with our Management, Finance, Category Managers of Europe but also with our Site, production and industrial managers, the P2P team, the legal department and various support services.

Your external relations are suppliers, auditors and authorities.

Based at the Holcim Belgium headquarters in Nivelles, regularly travel to our industrial sites is required.

Your profile:

• A master’s degree in business, finance, chemistry or engineering.
• Professional experience in category management in similar industry.
• Good knowledge of P2P processes, including purchasing family management.
• Ability to negotiate and to maximize profits.
• Knowledge of the process from definition of purchasing requirements through to payment.
• Having a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach.
• Analytical mind, comfortable with figures; able to analysis and understanding cost structure, correlation with changes in external expenditure, understanding of hedging mechanisms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, initiative and decision-making.
• Ability to take operational decisions.
• Strategic skills coupled with pragmatism in execution.
• Integrity and ethical working culture.
• Fluent in French, English & Dutch.
