Description

An existing web application, Asbum AAS allows for interaction with the Clickshare log files. Among its functionalities, it can monitor certain events based on regular expression parameters, as well as find specific log lines or groups of log lines and capture data which is periodically added to a logfile. Currently it is restricted to interact with log files that are hosted somewhere. We want to expand the functionality to also interact with uploaded log files. Next to that, various feature improvements and better user experience are to be included.

Goals

  • Be able to upload logs rather than host them somewhere
  • Make the events customizable per user (store them in cookies rather than globally)
  • Improve frontend visualisation
  • Better graphs, easy User flow to make it more attractive to use
  • Synchronization of different log files and visualisation of it
Challenging Expansions

  • Expose logs for live debugging on device through browser app
  • Integrate in CI/CD environment for debugging failures
Profile

  • Background in software development with an interest in frontend development
  • Python knowledge for backend
  • Knowledge on creating/styling a web application / UX
  • Knowledge on Linux for exposing the logs to a webserver
