Account Manager for Flanders

Brussels | full-time

1. Purpose

The role of the Account Manager is to build, maintain and optimise the commercial collaboration with brokers on a national level, in order to support the business in achieving its annual income targets, with regard to productivity and profitability.

2. Dimensions

In order to drive sustainable growth within P&C Belgium, the Senior Account Manager, in close collaboration with the other members of the sales team, will

  • successfully manage and develop relationships with our brokers;

  • develop growth strategies and identify new sources of business;

  • implement sales and account management processes.

  • represent MS Amlin in relevant networks in order to strengthen our market position.

3. Key Result Areas/R esponsibilities

Broker relations & account management : manage and develop excellent relationships with our brokers, as well as manage existing relationships and business.

New Business : develop and introduce new sources of business, ensuring that new business targets are met in line with the P&C strategic plans.

Marketing : work with the local Marketing representative and Group Marketing to ensure our client base is effectively covered off.

Reporting : ensure periodic reports in such a way that management is optimally informed about the current situation and expected evolutions.

4. The Operating Environment and Context of the Job

You are accountable in your dedicated zone for

  • realisation of the Sales target

  • maintaining and elaborating existing and new relationships

  • increase brand awareness

  • detecting new Sales-opportunities

  • reporting treats for MS Amlin organisation

  • supporting marketing actions.

5. Key Skills/Experience:

Generic

  • Verbal and written knowledge of Dutchand French(English is preferred).

  • You are innovative, focused and self-driven;

  • Degree educated or equivalent professional experience;

  • You are proactive and possess strong negotiation skills;

  • You have good judgement and decision making skills;

  • You are strongly results focused;

  • You are an excellent presenter and a strong communicator;

Job Specific

  • Experience in corporate insurance, covering different functions (underwriting, claims,…) and different classes of business (Property, Liability, Fleet).

  • You have experience with business development including client development, and contract negotiation;

  • You possess the ability to break into new brokers as well as maintain existing relationships well;

  • You have a good understanding of the insurance market in Belgium

  • Preferably you have received formal sales training with a solid understanding of sales and account management;
