Account Manager – Advanced Performance Materials
The Advanced Performance Materials (APM) business at Chemours is a vital part of solving the world’s most challenging problems, creating a better, more capable future for all. Chemours is seeking a passionate, motivated, and solution-driven Account Manager to join our high performing team!
This position will be part of the sales function and report directly to the Advanced Performance Materials (APM) EMEA Sales Leader. The responsibilities of the position are to drive profitable revenue growth and good policy compliance and cash performance at APM customers.
Ideally based in our Kallo, Belgium location, with remote location possible, most customers are in Germany, Italy, France, Netherlands and Turkey. This position is a highly visible, key role within the company as we drive a commercial excellence culture.
About the Team:
The APM global sales function is a key enabler of driving growth for the organization. We have Account Managers focused on building and maintaining business with existing customers, some focused on managing relationships with our channel partners, and others finding opportunities with prospective customers. All of these roles are supported by and work seamlessly with phenomenal sales operations and customer service teams to help day-to-day operations run smoothly.
What you will be doing:
As an Account Manager, you will focus on growing and retaining an existing book of business, primarily for existing product applications. You’ll nurture deep and lasting relationships, developing a robust understanding of your customers’ needs, and identify risks and opportunities.
As an Account Manager, you will:
  • Retain & Support – Protect existing book of business and retain revenue book by driving retention strategies and addressing customer requests promptly
  • Grow & Win – Identify opportunities to gain share of wallet and grow revenue
  • Understand & Adapt – Understand how customers use Chemours products and identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities through solutions and in-depth knowledge of key decision makers, influencers, coaches, and detractors
  • Build & Nurture – Build strong customer relationships with key accounts to position Chemours as the customer’s trusted partner through exceptional service
  • Solution & Team – Team with Product Managers, Technology Services, R&D, Marketing, and other relevant functions to bring the best solutions to the customer
  • Learn & Grow – Build and share an in-depth knowledge of Chemours’ products to effectively communicate Chemours value proposition to customers
  • Plan & Manage – Drive revenue by identifying and qualifying leads, close opportunities and manage an active 24-month sales pipeline at existing customers
  • Predict & Forecast – Communicate key drivers of customer demand and update accurate forecasts consistent with market indicators while monitoring purchases relative to forecasts
  • Partner & Negotiate – Draft, negotiate, and close contracts with customers, driving strategic pricing outcomes

Role Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or science related discipline (chemistry, engineering, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, specifically Salesforce.com
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills including a polished phone and email presence, must be able to establish credibility with customers virtually
  • Willing to travel as required, 0-20% (dependent on local COVID restrictions)
  • Highly motivated and dependable
  • Fluent in Business English communications, with other major European language skills an advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 – 3 years business-to-business field sales or inside sales experience
  • Basic sales and negotiations experience and/or training
