Mission Description:

Start an exciting project with a key player in the energy sector!

The energy landscape is undergoing significant transformations, both nationally and across Europe. As part of this shift, you’ll work on building a sustainable, green, and reliable energy infrastructure that promotes economic growth and reduces the environmental footprint.

Here, you will collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, contributing to an impactful project. We value diversity and inclusivity, believing that they drive innovation, creativity, and better results.

Service Description:

The Business Analyst for Technology & Innovation plays a crucial role in the digital transformation of the Assets department. This transformation is essential to support the transition to renewable energy and to ensure the electricity supply remains reliable during this shift. The goal is to become a fully digital transmission system operator (TSO), improving both efficiency and quality.

The Assets division is responsible for maintaining the electrical high-voltage grid and commissioning network expansions. Safety, quality, and efficiency are the core principles guiding this work.

Current projects focus on remote and predictive maintenance, utilizing Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). In addition to typical business analyst tasks, this role requires openness to innovative technologies, both in software (communication, AI, etc.) and hardware (sensors, actuators, smart assets, etc.), assessing their potential for the business.

The business analyst is responsible for designing efficient business processes. He/she captures business needs and translates them into requirements for IT systems, acting as a liaison between the business and IT partners, such as functional analysts and project managers. It’s critical to understand business operations and needs, while functional analyses are carried out by IT.

We are seeking an experienced and mature business analyst who can not only analyze and improve processes but also assess the impact of changes on these processes and systems. You will capture, describe, and communicate business needs, bridging the gap with IT (functional analysts, architects, etc.) and working closely with colleagues from other departments.

Key responsibilities:

  • Model business processes and guide the business in redesigning these processes.
  • Conduct impact analyses on systems and processes.
  • Develop context diagrams, business domain models, user stories, and use cases.
  • Define business needs concerning IT tools and establish guidelines for their use.
  • Challenge the business on their needs and proposed processes.
  • Align and validate requirements between business and IT.
  • Validate the functional analysis provided by IT.
  • Lead data quality initiatives and data migration processes.
  • Test and validate system releases post-implementation.
  • Play an active role in change management by creating training materials and delivering training sessions to end-users.
  • Provide support to the business in using IT tools during the post-implementation phase.

Additional Requirements:

  • A master’s degree, preferably in a technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in capturing and documenting business needs.
  • At least 5 years of experience in analyzing and modeling business processes.
  • Experience in modeling the information needs of the business within processes.
  • Knowledge of IoT, AI, or other relevant technologies is a plus.
  • Experience in maintaining industrial assets is a plus.
  • Experience in developing and executing test plans.
  • Experience in preparing training materials for end-users.
  • Trilingual in Dutch, French, and English.
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking.
  • Independent, proactive, and a problem-solver.
  • A team player who can align various parties.
  • Assertive and effective in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Skilled in planning and organization.
  • Customer-oriented and flexible.
