Job description

The Business Analyst maps the operation and needs of the business within the scope of existing initiatives/epics/project proposals, documents them and translates them into implementable and/or improved business processes. The Business Analyst does this primarily by means of a process and needs analysis, which results in a ’Minimum Viable Product’, among other things. The role of Business Analyst forms the bridge between business and ICT and the basis for developing customized ICT solutions. To achieve this, the Business Analyst works closely with the Business stakeholders, the Product Owners and the Analysts and describes this by means of "story mapping."

The task package as a business analyst consists of:

  • The Business Analyst performs business and needs analyses and identifies the relevant epics/user stories in the analysed initiatives/epics/features and draws up a story map for this on which an MVP is determined.
  • The Business Analyst makes assumptions transparent regarding business needs. The Business Analyst looks for ways to test and validate business questions (Minimum Viable Product approach) and to document these in order to monitor scope.
  • The Business Analyst regularly and where necessary coordinates with the Business Owner, Business Architect, Solution Architect, Product Owners and the Agile teams to:
  • align the analysis approach
  • provide them with sufficient insight into the broader framework where necessary
  • check (and adjust where necessary) whether the priorities at feature level are correctly converted into Sprint planning and priorities
  • The Business Analyst is responsible for organizing workshops and participates in selected working meetings (together with Business Owners and Product Owners).
  • The Business Analyst participates in the various coordination sessions within the Agile team and in the broader organizational operations.
