Job Description and Qualifications

We are currently looking for a Corporate Communications Specialist (6 month contract – possibility to extend) to be based in Diegem or Hattingen. You will have a key role in our Hydrogen for Mobility and Energy Transition communication strategy and report in to our Senior Corporate Communications Specialist.

Context of your role:
The Hydrogen for Mobility / Energy Transition areas are great areas of growth and therefore we have created this new role within the Corporate Communication team. You will be a valuable strategic resource to the business and ensure continuity of integrated communications activity via proactive and consistent identification of opportunities in support of business objectives and projects. You will also be managing internal stakeholder expectations as to how communications will help achieve their goals and support broader activities. You are strong at quickly establishing great relationships with key members of the marketing, business and HR teams.

As our Corporate Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for:

Content Generation
  • Generate content for diverse Air Products platforms including but not limited to website, articles, op-eds, Yammer, video production, etc. Taking a holistic approach to make greater use of video, photo and infographics to maximise impact.
  • Act as an advisor for the business/senior management when it comes to internal and external (digital) communications.
Content coordination
  • Coordinate the content creation with but not limited to the business/senior management, communications agencies and external vendors, with respect to deadlines, business objectives and the corporate communications strategy.
Thought Leadership
  • Monitor media platforms, track relevant thought leaders and identify opportunities for Air Products to increase our brand profile/meet business objectives in the field of Hydrogen for Mobility and the Energy Transition
  • Monitoring, Measurement and Insights
  • Support and evaluate results of communication campaigns across Europe to demonstrate business value and inform ongoing activities
Social Media Management
  • Support the management of a social media schedule and development of content to ensure that events, news, and business updates are optimally posted in Northern Continent and European channels for H2fMET.
Crisis preparedness
  • Play an active role in crisis preparedness including the planning and delivery of a European crisis media training programme.
  • Support the corporate communications team by taking a share of ownership on the many items that emerge day-to-day in Europe and as part of global function.

Your profile:
  • A degree in PR, Communication/Marketing, Journalism or related.
  • You’ve already had your first professional marketing/communication experience (inhouse or in an agency environment)
  • Demonstrable creative skills such as copywriting, editing, video production, photography or graphic design (as well the ability to proofread)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in media and social listening monitoring and analytics, using a platform such as Meltwater
  • Digital and social media management skills. Experience using SharePoint and/or Teams is useful but not critical
  • Demonstrable organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively to manage competing deadlines successfully whilst maintaining attention to detail
  • The ability to take your own initiative and be proactive, whilst also being a great team player
  • Fluency in English with strong German language skills required. Additional European languages would be useful but are not critical.
