Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for customs compliance? We are looking for a Senior Customs Specialist to ensure our operations meet all regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in advising our teams, conducting audits, and maintaining crucial permits.

Functieomschrijving

  • Provide substantive assistance and advice on customs matters (and excise duties);
  • Conduct dossier audits and maintain and follow up on permits;
  • Ensure timely clearance of various customs procedures;
  • Advise operations, sales, and management on customs legislation and procedures;
  • Oversee compliance with legal provisions;
  • Perform audits (including all related internal and external reports) according to management guidelines, typically at the relevant locations;
  • Initiate and implement improvements;
  • Support requests for rectification, refunds, or additional payments and handle any objections and appeals;
  • Proactively collaborate on implementing customs solutions for new clients;
  • Provide project-based support for customs activities and processes;
  • Act as the first point of contact for Customs for queries that operational customs staff cannot answer;
  • Help develop and deliver customs training;
  • Draft and maintain procedures related to Customs and Excise.

Profiel

  • You have at least 3 years of experience in customs and compliance;
  • In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, tariff classifications, and international trade lawsPlus point if you have knowledge of Descartes (customs system);
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail;
  • You have a strong knowledge of Dutch and English
  • You are a team player and enjoy working in an international environment
