Twipe is a mediatech scale-up based in Leuven, Belgium working with leading newspaper publishers in Europe and the US to grow their digital subscribers and sustain quality journalism. We offer cloud based digital edition publishing, analytics, and personalization solutions. Our innovative solutions accelerate the growth of newspapers including Le Monde, The Telegraph and the various titles of Mediahuis (De Standaard, Het Nieuwsblad, De Telegraaf,…).

To inspire our industry, we gather and analyze industry knowledge and share insights with our growing Future of News publishers’ community.

Why are we hiring?

As Twipe is steadily growing with more and more projects coming our way, we now have room to scale our Platform Delivery Team. This team needs strong leadership to deliver on a regular basis new versions of platform components to our customer integration team . As a Team Leader - Platform Delivery, you oversee a team of 6-8 people that will develop new features, maintain the code to the latest standard, ensure and follow-up the quality of those components through integrated testing and canary release management.

What do you do?

• You manage a team of 6 to 8 FTEs including developers and analysts
• You’re responsible for this team’s development in skills but also growth in size with hiring competencies
• You foster strong teamwork
• You interactively introduce and improve state-of-the-art platform release processes, creating playbooks, checklists, kick-off templates, etc.
• You implement automation solutions to increase efficiency
• You ensure proper documentation and communication of platform releases both to internal teams and customers
• You proactively gather new requirements on feature integrations, technology upgrade and schedule together with the product and customer integration teams in future platform releases
• You monitor the developed platform components in production to ensure they meet the quality standards
• You ensure that deliveries are done on time, with the best quality we can provide and within the budgetary scope defined
• You’re a sparring partner to our developers and don’t hesitate to challenge them
• You manage customer dependencies in close collaboration with our Customer Success team and product dependencies together with our Product team

Your track record:

• You have at least 8 years of experience in a software delivery environment
• You have a strong track record in people management, managing 1-to1s, coaching, performance review, etc.
• You know how to grow a team in skills and size, with experience being a hiring manager
• You are experienced in technical implementation, installation and configuration.
• You have implemented state-of-the-art software development processes, workflow and optimization in your previous endeavors
• You have a deep knowledge of Agile delivery principles
• You are used to coordinate cross-team projects and can work in close collaboration with different stakeholders
• You are tech-savvy with a good understanding of coding (e.g. C#, JavaScript, React Native) and show technical capabilities in our tools (JIRA, Elastic Search, Kibana, etc.)
• You have good knowledge in SQL
