The St Andrew’s Hospital Foundation was founded in 2000 and sources critical funding to support the work of the Hospital, by supporting facilities upgrades, providing state of the art equipment and training opportunities for St Andrew’s staff to keep the Hospital at the forefront of medical and surgical excellence.
About The Role
We are seeking a highly engaged, proactive communicator with a strategic mindset to join our team in the pivotal role of Foundation Director. This role works closely with our Senior Executive Committee and the Foundation Board to develop and implement the Foundation’s fundraising strategy, and promote the visibility of the Foundation both internally and externally. This is achieved by:
- Continuously reviewing and improving the fundraising strategy of the Foundation;
- Fostering relationships between the Hospital and the Foundation to ensure that funding is aligned with the Hospital’s priorities;
- Proactively developing and strengthening relationships with donors and other key communities to support fundraising efforts;
- Managing Foundation events, publications and programs; and
- Managing the business affairs of the Foundation and advising the Foundation Board on progress against identified goals and programs.
The Foundation Director manages a small team of dedicated individuals, and is also responsible for managing the Hospital’s volunteer service, which includes more than 100 amazing volunteers.
Hours
This role is offered on either a permanent full time or part time basis (minimum 0.8FTE), with flexibility of hours to suit personal circumstances.
About You
We are looking for an experienced relationship based fundraiser with a proven track record in developing and managing integrated fundraising strategies, including donor acquisition and retention. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, engagement and influencing skills, along with sound business management expertise.
Other Key Requirements Include
- Demonstrated success in creating, implementing and evaluating comprehensive fundraising strategies, including regular giving, annual appeals, major gift, bequest and in memoriam opportunities;
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, including the demonstrated ability to present to large groups;
- Exceptional written communication skills, including experience in preparing engaging written publications and online content;
- Previous experience working with or coordinating volunteers; and
- A high degree of flexibility, initiative and professional judgment.
