The candidate will join the Lead Evaluation and Cellular Pharmacology team, to develop cutting-edge approaches for the identification of small molecule therapeutics for various disease indications, including Oncology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Neuroscience, and Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases. S/he will work in an exciting, interdisciplinary environment, across the different stages of lead discovery pipeline, by interacting with several internal and external groups. The candidate should be highly self-motivated and can work independently. Responsibilities for the candidate include design and execution of cellular experiments and assays for the identification and characterization of small molecules, antibodies, peptides and nucleotide-and cell-based therapeutics. The candidate is expected to be able to critically analyze data and troubleshooting skills will be essential. S/he should demonstrate a sense of urgency, independency, be organized and adhere to sensitive timelines.
The work location for the position is Beerse, Belgium
Primary responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
- Substantial hands-on work in designing, development, miniaturization and automation of cellular and biochemical experiments and assays
- Collaborate with stakeholders and business partners from all relevant functions and take the lead for scientific and technical programs
- Propose novel and actionable assay ideas, aligned with internal and external scientific strategies and demands
- Contribute to the elaboration and the execution of new methodologies and strategies applied to high throughput screening and activity profiling of small molecules in miniaturized format
- Keep up to date on literature related to his/her field. Act as an expert resource in her/his scientific field and related disciplines. Propose novel and actionable assay ideas, aligned with internal and external scientific strategies and demands
- Interpret, troubleshoot and report on complex/multidimensional data
- Present data in professional ’publication ready’ format
