Are you a natural leader who can motivate and communicate with couriers at our Mechelen hub? Do you enjoy solving problems, planning schedules and supporting colleagues? Then this is the role for you!Our storyWith over 98 million active users in 20 countries, we deliver fantastic food from Belgium to Brazil. Many of those deliveries happen thanks to ‘Scoober’, our global logistics operation.Scoober supports restaurants in the delivery process, with our couriers taking their orders from the kitchen to the customer. With Scoober launching in new locations, our courier fleet must be equipped for success.All About The RoleAs our Courier Coordinator in Mechelen, you will be responsible for the couriers who start their shifts at your hub. The hub is where couriers check in and pick up their equipment before their first delivery. Using your leadership skills, you can keep them motivated, offer support and answer their queries.Communication and collaboration are vital in this job. As well as creating useful materials like SOP contracts for couriers and PowerPoint presentations, you will visit coordinators at other Belgian hubs to share information and optimise our Scoober operations.This is a fast-paced role where each day is different. Here’s a taste of the average week:- Monday: Begin with the daily stand-up and onboard new starters. Review the planning schedule for your couriers, approving holidays & checking their scheduled hours
- Tuesday: Lead the hub meeting, organise a trial day for the new couriers and call to support anyone who’s off sick. Finish with a check of the hub’s facilities & safety
- Wednesday: Meet the centralised team to check planning & availability for the couriers
- Thursday: Set up a performance review with your couriers, before your one-on-one with the City Operations Manager, to keep them informed and arrange any training. Then, organise afternoon refreshments and a catch-up for everyone at the hub.
- Friday: Set up courier contracts for the week, make an inventory of all the equipment & place orders for any clothing, backpacks or helmets. Report into the Senior Driver Coordinator or City Operations Manager to ensure your hub is fully stocked up
- Saturday: Validate contracts and send them on to the HR partner. Follow up with Live OPS about problems on the road and assist where needed
- Sunday: Kick things off with the daily stand-up to motivate and manage the couriers ahead of a busy Sunday night. Use your technical knowledge to handle any issues: reporting broken bikes, preparing bikes for the following week etc.
- 1+ years’ experience in a relevant role is a plus (shift leader, floor manager, Horeca background)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Experience of working in a team environment & liaising with a range of colleagues
- A practical attitude, with ideas of how to develop our hub operations
- Good communication skills
- Able to work on irregular shifts: including weekends and evenings
- Fluent Dutch (written & spoken) with a good level of English. Additional languages are a plus
