  • Member of the DC Leadership Team
  • Responsible for the planning & management of EHS budget for the facility
  • Responsible for the setting and follow-up of the 5S/VAVE/FMOP (lean) projects in relation with the quality- and EHS management system.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Legislative Compliance and Audit
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant National EHS Legislation and Corporate standards.
  • Liaise & co-ordinate any Regulatory, Governmental or Corporate site visits and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate internal and external EHS inspections and audits. Implement and track correction action plans.
  • Ensure that all external and internal reporting requirements are met on time.
  • Manage the annual EHS Self-Assessment program for the location.
Management Systems
  • Maintain the EHS Management Systems.
  • Introduce, maintain & review policies and procedures.
Safety
  • Manage the accident reduction program.
  • Ensure that the EHS programs are properly implemented with specific reference to safety to life programs such as Lockout, Electrical Safety, Confined Space Entry, Elevated Work and any others as may be relevant to the location.
  • Ensure that risk assessments are completed and that improvements are identified, and action taken to address high risk activities according to priority.
  • Ensure that Safety equipment including PPE meets the applicable standard.
Environment
  • Ensure that Environmental Aspects and Impacts assessments are completed and that control measures are in place to manage significant aspects.
  • Manage the sites waste management system and improvement program.
  • Manage energy reduction programs
Occupational and Health
  • Check the conduct of all occupational health surveillance.
  • Manage ergonomic issues by engineering controls, training, and information.
Training and Education
  • Lead EHS training needs assessments.
  • Coordinate training communication to site personnel related to EHS matters.
  • Attend EHS Conferences and other Training events as directed by the location and BU.
Continuous improvement / Lean
  • Support optimization projects
  • Implement and maintain a 5S culture
General Management
  • Act as an internal consultant on EHS matters and advise on current and future requirements.
  • Participate in all site Leadership activities
  • Lead the EHS council site meetings
  • Lead the comity for Safety and Health
  • Create a follow-up tool and manage all the site improvement projects
JOB REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:
  • Strong communication skills, people management, and EHS management expertise
  • Fluent in Dutch, mother tongue preferred
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Sound understanding of Environmental, Health and Safety issues within an industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of specific EHS laws and regulations and ability to interpret and apply them to the job.
  • Computer Skills. Microsoft Office
  • Proactive, self-starter. Proven record of demonstrating initiative

  • Internal: DC leadership team, DC team leaders
  • External: contractors, government
SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Direct: FTE
  • Indirect: 1 FTE
EDUCATION:
  • Minimum/Essential Desirable: Degree in EHS or other relevant discipline required.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum/Essential: 1-2 years’ experience in a commercial environment
  • Desirable: 5 – 7 Years’ experience preferred in a Health & Safety role within a industrial environment, (but high potential candidates may be accepted with less experience)
  • Minimum/essential 1 year experience in management of teams.
