We are now recruiting for a number of exciting roles which have a large degree of scope and autonomy to deliver technology solutions to improve human health by improving the first manufacturing step in changing patients’ lives for the better.

The Cluster E&I Engineer is a member of the API Small Molecule Make Asset Management Cluster Engineering Team. This position provides leadership and technical expertise for Capital projects design and execution across the SM API Cluster of Business Units in Geel, Belgium, Cork Ireland, Athens Georgia USA and Schaffhausen Switzerland as well as day to day technical support for operations and maintenance. This role has a large degree of scope and autonomy to deliver technology solutions to improve human health by improving the first manufacturing step in changing patients lives for the better.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as Discipline Engineer/Subject Matter Expert for E&I matters, digitisation and standardisation
  • Leads & participates actively in teams to deliver top quality projects with Zero injuries, within budget, schedule while meeting business requirements and scope
  • Participate actively in multi-functional projects as E&I SME
  • Develops and presents the Pre-Project Definition (PPD) for E&I projects outlining the business opportunity or need, business drivers, investigated solution proposals, proposed preferred solution (and rationale), proposed project scope, timeline, resource requirements and financials, supporting business case, project risks etc.
  • Prepares the Flawless Project execution project team kick-off and uses FPX throughout the project.
  • Development of a strategic Capital Master Plan for E&I installations
  • Mentor external E&I engineers on project delivery processes, technical standards and equipment specifications as the J&J project coach.

Education

Qualifications

Required : Engineering Degree in a relevant subject area or Batchelor Degree with relevant experience

Experience and Skills:

The successful candidate will have experience, skills and track record of achievement in the following, minimum of 3 years work experience
  • Focus, deep seated understanding and dedication to safety
  • Detailed and deep understanding of E&I technologies
  • Working of automation systems, PLC’s and DCS
  • Leadership of diverse teams
  • Development of people
  • Capital project delivery
  • Highly effective collaboration with multiple partners and departments

Preferred

MAMC Certificate

PMP/FPX Certificate

Communication and Leadership skills

Organisational Change and Project Management skills

Experience in running multiple partner groups

Business focussed discernment and financial understanding

Travel Required Yes

Travel% : 5-10%
