Job Description

Virya Energy is active in the development, financing and operation of energy transition projects. The company, based in Belgium, was founded in late 2019 by Colruyt Group and majority shareholder Korys.

Virya Energy operates across the entire renewable energy value chain. This includes green energy production in Europe through its subsidiaries Eoly Energy and Eurowatt, in Asia through its subsidiary Sanchore and a majority stake in Constant Energy, and energy distribution through its subsidiary DATS 24. Virya Energy is also involved in the development of renewable hydrogen projects through Virya H2. The company has interests in service providers to the offshore industry, including GeoXYZ, DotOcean and Marlinks.

Since October 2023, Virya Energy has also acquired a 75% stake in Belgian company Diodi, which specializes in sustainable farmland management.

Considering its further international business expansion, Virya Energy is looking to enlarge its finance team with a Financial Planning & Analysis professional.

As member of our team, you will get the chance to add value to Virya Energy Group and to contribute to Virya Energy’s goal to accelerate the energy transition to sustainable energy sources.

Your role:

We are looking for a FP&A analyst with at least 4 years of experience with a strong focus on planning and monitoring the financial performance of the group based on its strategy, as well as supporting management in analyzing investment opportunities. You will work closely with the Virya Finance team and the finance teams of the group entities. Your focus will be on:

  • Monitoring, analyzing and correctly interpreting financial results and business information.
  • Translating the group strategy in dynamic financial plans.
  • Monitoring execution and progress of the group strategy through periodic management reporting based on operational and financial metrics.
  • Partnering and supporting group entities in their financial planning and monitoring activities.
  • Analyzing investment and business cases.
  • Providing support in M&A files: valuation, due diligence coordination, etc.
  • Further automating and optimizing financial planning processes.
  • Preparing financial presentations and reports for the relevant stakeholders (Management Team, Investment Committee, Board of Directors, banks, shareholders).
  • Supporting the Management Team in steering the value creation of the group.
  • Monitoring of the value creation of the different businesses/projects by using financial metrics in financial models and by challenging their business plan while safeguarding uniformity in analyses and assumptions.
  • Participating and contributing to continuously improving reporting, controlling and planning processes.
Job requirements

  • You have at least 4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • You have a good ability to understand complex businesses and its interactions. In particular you have a good understanding of the financial, fiscal and regulatory aspects and their implications on the business and ability to generate value.
  • You are experienced in investment, valuation, and financial modelling related topics.
  • You are an advanced user of MS Office and/or other analytical software systems.
  • You have knowledge of analytical and accounting concepts. Knowledge of IFRS norms and consolidation is a plus.
  • You are able to track multiple projects and perform several tasks at the same time.
  • You are accurate and have strong analytical skills.
  • You have strong social and communicative skills and are able to work in team as well as autonomously.
  • You have preferably obtained a master’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • You speak and write fluently in English. Knowledge of Dutch, French or other languages is a plus.
