Job Description

The role of Freelance Legal Counsel is to assure legality in the different activities carried out by the organization, avoid legal contingencies, and manage the appropriate attention of the operations’ legal needs, with the right balance of internally and externally (through proper management of external counsel) executed tasks, focused mainly on the Belgium and German operations, but also supporting the corporate legal team and the occasional requirements of the Switzerland and Italy offices.Your responsibilities will be :

  • General Legal support : Attending to consultations from all company areas regarding general legal aspects con corporate, regulatory, commercial and labour matters.
  • Contracts: Preparation, review and negotiation of the company’s agreements/contracts in English and Dutch.
  • Corporate housekeeping : Direct coordination with the Corporate Legal Department on all corporate requirements regarding reporting, corporate book keeping, director appointments, powers of attorney, and local formalities for such items.
  • Process : Preparation and support with any necessary documents and processes before authorities, notary publics, registries and similar entities alike.


The Successful Applicant

  • You have a Master degree in Law ;
  • You have minimum 7 years of experience within a law firm or in house ;
  • You are fluent in English and Dutch. German is a plus, but not a must ;
  • You are comfortable with managing large and varied workload (to include corporate, commercial, dispute resolution) balancing competing priorities and being able to flex style to work autonomously and in collaboration with large teams ;
  • You have ability to distil complex legal issues with a view to providing pragmatic legal advice to a range of stakeholders ;
  • You have excellent communication skills
