Purpose of the position

Implement, optimize & continuously improve the Brussels Airlines’ inflight products and services on a selection of routes, within the defined strategic guidelines and agreed budget in order to create value and ensure customer satisfaction.

Transversal role within the team, mainly focus on optimizing the costs (more than 40mio EUR/y), developing the collaboration with suppliers (more than 40 suppliers), managing the daily operations as support to the long- and short-haul managers and look into synergy potentials with the LHG network airlines at the level of concepts & products.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Contract management
Main activities
  • Organize tenders/negotiation of contracts below 300K EUR/y in close collaboration with catering and equipment managers (or assist the Procurement department for contracts with value over 300 K EUR/y).
  • Manage the contracting process (incl. barters) with the support of the Legal & Procurement department
  • Focus on limiting the price increases from suppliers (with procurement support). E.g by changing specifications, implementing leaner processes, finding substitute products...
  • Evaluate potential synergies within Lufthansa Group & assist with the implementation.
  • Continuously follow-up and control of invoices. Take necessary actions to solve discrepancies.
  • Control and apply SLA penalties if applicable. Special focus on caterer SLA.
  • Manage mid-/long-term tasks related to contracts (e.g. invoicing discussions, apply contract conditions like volume fees/bonus, etc.)
  • Handling and logistics management
Main activities
  • Manage stock inventory and purchasing orders for equipment items in order to avoid operational disruptions.
  • Manage equipment stocks and deliveries in outstations.
  • Control loadings and equipment stocks on a regular basis at the caterer and on board. Apply corrective actions if necessary.
  • Charters and special flights
Main activities
  • Define the offer with concerned departments.
  • Implement and follow operations on adapted products, including instructions for all stakeholders.
  • Irregularities handling
Main activities
  • Manage major flight irregularities (e.g. AOG, strikes, etc.): adapt all processes related to inflight product impacted by the event (loading plans, weights, crew processes, outstations, etc.), ensure good coordination and communication with necessary parties (FLOPS, GOPS, outstations, caterers, crew, customer relations, …) in order to minimize the irregularity impact, follow-up after the event (invoices, feedback/debriefing, etc.)
Other projects related to inflight: provide expertise on inflight product for the project, support or manage implementation

Your profile

Required Diploma And Required Experience
  • Bachelor
  • 3-5 years of experience: operations, procurement, business/partnership development, supply chain, product, retail
Technical Skills Required For The Job
  • Language: English + preferably Dutch, French or German
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Good analytical skills/budget management
  • Driving license
