Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.

• This position is located at the 2nd Signal Brigade, 39th Signal Battalion Shape Belgium. Responsibilities Provide direct network and administrative support for customer to ensure overall network integrity for the Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) and Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) services. Conduct system testing, upgrades, and preventative maintenance. Diagnose system failures to isolate source of problems between equipment, networks, systems software, and applications systems. Provide technical system administration support. Interpret new or revised command policies and objectives. Define and establish general network/communications planning objectives. Manage and maintain cryptographic program as a local element. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one-year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by installing or maintaining various types of equipment to support voice, video, or data requirements; conducting network tests or implementation plans in accordance with established policies and procedures; monitoring information system performance to ensure the system meets service standards; and resolving hardware and software interface or interoperability problems. • If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.
• Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only. Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions. The initial length of this overseas tour is 36 months.
