Junior Accountant

Summary

The Junior Accountant is part of the EMEA Finance team, which focuses on closing the US and Belgian GAAP accounts in order to provide adequate reporting to management and the shareholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Follow up of Travel and Expense costs and credit cards.
  • Prepare weekly payment runs.
  • Prepare manual payments in our banking system.
  • Support the preparation of the weekly Cash Forecast.
  • Daily posting of banks: apply incoming and outgoing payments to the correct accounts.
  • Posting and verification of A/P invoices and Credit Notes via Medius (A/P automation system)
  • Participate in the monthly closing: reconciliation of bank statements.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Accounting degree (Bachelor is preferable).
  • No prior work experience is required, however prior experiences of an internship or summer jobs in a Finance department are an advantage.
  • Good communication skills, a team player who enjoys supporting colleagues.
  • “Likes to learn” attitude combined with an analytical mindset and perseverance towards goals.
  • You have an eye for details; your work is efficient and accurate.
  • You feel comfortable with deadlines.
  • Familiarity with MS-Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Good knowledge of English and Dutch.
