Job Purpose

The Junior Financial Controller/Business Partner will be the right hand Head of Finance and will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth financial processes of both local and central financial processes. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of, both BEGAAP and NLGAAP accounting principles, cost monitoring, and financial reconciliation. Additionally, the role involves detailed budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in close cooperation with the Finance director and the business.


Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the monthly closing process
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting in compliance with company policies and local regulations.
  • Have a good overview of the costs and flag all deviations vs. budget.
  • Oversee accruals and provisions are posted timely in close cooperation with our financial services.
  • Prepare account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial
  • Prepare and update financial forecasts to support strategic planning.
  • Large contribution to the preparation of budgets and forecasts, taking into account local and corporate goals.
  • Perform variance analysis to identify and explain discrepancies between actual and forecasted figures.
  • Perform as hoc analyses
  • Follow up on local statutory deadlines in close cooperation with our Financial shared services
  • Contribute to audit file preparation
  • Support all projects to improve both financial and operational processes
  • Adhere to local and company statutory accounting regulations.
  • Stay updated on relevant accounting and tax legislation in Belgium and the Netherlands.
  • Understand and apply fundamental tax principles applicable in Belgium and the Netherlands.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to safeguarding all compliance matters internal and external


Education/Professional experience

  • Experience in a multinational matrix environment
  • Preferably a master’s degree in finance.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in managing both local and central accounting functions.
  • Experience in business partnering
  • Experience with cost monitoring, reconciliation, and financial forecasting.
  • Strong budgeting skills and the ability to perform detailed variance analysis.
  • Knowledge of statutory accounting legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with tax regulations in Belgium and the Netherlands.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities without losing overview.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills

  • Love for learning
  • Solid knowledge of Dutch and English, French will be considered as a plus
  • Experience with SAP
