The location for this position is Amsterdam.

• Ensure we cover the most important products and brands in our Belgium assortment
• Create fruitful relationships with our main suppliers, identify new suppliers and negotiate prices
• Analyze key metrics to identify potential assortment improvements and derive strategies to improve supplier performance
• Close cooperation with other disciplines like marketing and supply chain to define and set up the business together
• Ensure we have a perfect balance between stock-outs and product expirations
• Close cooperation with city managers and other category managers to ensure an optimal assortment in each location

• 6+ years of experience in category management or purchasing in the grocery industry
• Successfully completed a degree in business or a related field
• Very good market and product knowledge within the Belgium grocery industry
• A commercial understanding paired with a good intuition and negotiation skills
• You are assertive and resilient, while also being flexible and pragmatic
• Very good communication skills, native in Dutch and fluent written and spoken in English
