The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the right products and components are delivered to the right location on time, to the quality required and in the most cost effective way.


Responsibilities

  • Plan and co-ordinate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, logistics providers and transportation companies
  • Communicate and resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements
  • Produce logistics schedules and reports
  • Maintain performance metrics and reports in order to provide meaningful logistics information
  • Monitor carriers and logistic providers performance and handle performance issues
  • Assist in the selection of carriers and logistic providers
  • Make recommendations in relation to optimal transport modes, routes or frequency
  • Ensure compliance with import/export/customs regulations, legal and health and safety requirements
  • Identify inefficiencies, support continuous improvement initiatives and cost optimization opportunities

Requirements & skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, transportation and 3PL management as shipping agent or similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or relevant field, or equivalent by experience.
  • Fluency in English is a must, Dutch and/or French, or other languages, are a plus.
  • Experience in working with air and ocean freight forwarders, trucking, and logistics.
  • Knowledge of technical regulations related to logistics such as import/export procedures, customs regulations, incoterms, insurances, documentary credits, transport regulations.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management and understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods, dispatching orders, etc.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and transportation companies
  • Familiar with safety processes and legal regulations
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (for example SAP) is a plus
  • User knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
