Job Description:

As a Logistics Planning Manager at Caterpillar you will provide support to EAME operations and develop systems, concepts and methodology to improve operational efficiency.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides expertise to improve existing logistics services, systems and processes
  • Researches new concepts, systems and methods to improve operational efficiency
  • Improves existing logistics services and products or develops new services, systems and/or processes which improve logistics performance
  • Provides information to management to permit improved control and planning of parts operations
  • Improves processes which predict erratic customer orders and inbound fluctuations at a minimum cost
  • Develops a thorough understanding of cause and effect relationships, defines parameters and sets research objectives
  • Is occasionally called upon to solve problems from dealers, suppliers and other Caterpillar divisions
  • Plays significant role in search for industry leading logistics practices covering the end-to-end supply chain
  • Provides SPM/EWM implementation support
  • Supports EAME operations in realizing the Parts Distribution Strategy (VST, LEAN, Innovation, ZIP, …)
  • Coordinates the regional S&OP process
  • Coordinates the regional Business Planning process & financial reviews (RBM)

Requirements

  • Excellent analytical abilities and computer capabilities
  • Good understanding of the end-to-end supply chain with extensive knowledge about parts distribution operations
  • Good understanding of parts distribution financials as well as total supply chain cost (TCO)
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Can work independently
  • Candidate has the potential to grow beyond this function
