  • key responsibilities

    An integral part of both the global Marine and Crude Trading teams, you will coordinate and implement the execution of safe, efficient and cost-effective dispatch and voyage operations of vessels carrying the company’s cargo domestically and/or globally. Furthermore, you will be responsible for coordinating and planning terminal/refinery inventories and lifting and delivery schedules for crude oil and petroleum products.


    Some of your duties include:

    • Manage operations and scheduling of company and third-party cargoes on behalf of the company
    • Manage equipment from various parties under existing or new contracts (Term Charter, Spot Charter, Contract of Affreightment, Charter Order, Master Transportation Agreement, etc.)
    • Generate Planning Orders (Nominations) based on trade signals from traders and refinery optimisers
    • Ensure that all vessel equipment (including loading and unloading terminal) is properly vetted prior to loading through the internal vetting system
    • Formulating and issuing appropriate voyage orders and letters of indemnification.
    • Identify and seek cost reduction opportunities through fleet optimisation (e.g. out charters, cleaning reductions, repositioning, etc)
    • Provide timely and accurate information on scheduling, vessel and voyage-related activities to internal stakeholders, ship agents and ship brokers to ensure vessel utilisation and safety targets are met (expected arrival and departure times, activities in port, lifting schedules and other vessel/voyage data)
    • You will arrange and optimise the delivery of bunkers for vessels on time charter
    • Work with sites to support and coordinate long-term planning and refinery turnarounds to ensure adequate equipment coverage and accuracy of signals
    • Act as first point of contact for billing disputes and/or resolutions with billing staff/analysts
    • Working closely with Demurrage Claims organisation to minimise losses and maximise value
  • qualifications

    • You will preferably have a university degree in a numerical subject, e.g. engineering, science, economics, finance, mathematics or statistics, or have relevant work experience underpinned by strong P&L performance.
    • You have previous experience in a marine/logistics environment, mainly focused on:
    • Evaluating, optimising and managing cargo operations
    • Have an understanding of risk management
    • You have strong commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial mindset
    • You have solid analytical/IT skills
    • You possess effective leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate business decisions in a multicultural team environment.
    • You speak and write English fluently. Other languages are an added plus, this is a communicative position.
