Department overview

The global Vein to Vein team (V2V) supports the patient journey of cell therapies from start (collection of cells) to completion (infusion). Key responsibility is to ensure fast, seamless & compliant movement of patient cells across the different hand-offs in the V2V supply chain. The team supports both the clinical & commercial organizations in the slot scheduling, communication of manufacturing capacity & status, logistics requirements, courier management and demand management. Execution of Chain of Identity (CoI) and Chain of Custody (CoC) requirements is also embedded in the team’s responsibilities. Process improvements to support the transition the Commercial Supply Chain’s demands is also considered as we move to launch.

Role objective

This role is part of the regional EMEA V2V team which is part of the Johnson & Johnson Advanced Therapies Supply Chain. Key to this role will be supporting logistics and material movement, enabling the compliance to Chain of Custody (CoC) and Chain of Identity (CoI) for this product, coordination of scheduling, management of material arrival and departure and communication of issues. As we are building capabilities to automate processes & ensure optimal customer experience towards the treatment sites, this role will be part of that development and support testing & roll-out. Critical to commercialization for launch will be the certification of treatment sites which this role will support by training them on receipt/storage/shipment, master data setup and completion of Logistics Test Runs (LTRs). Additionally, this role will remain the main supply chain contact for a grouping of treatment sites in collaboration with the CTAL & CTC commercial roles to ensure a positive experience within the patient journey.

Major responsibilities

  • Supply chain point of contact towards treatment sites and commercial teams of a certain country/region from a logistics, planning & forecasting point of view
  • Lead efforts to orchestrate patient material movement across the V2V supply chain for EMEA patients
  • Support in and outbound of patient material and communicate with carrier base, provide forecasting to carrier base as needed.
  • Coordination with internal warehouses and distribution centers to support smooth patient journeys
  • Ensure execution of COC/COI requirements both in the manual as automated processes for both clinical and commercial business
  • Support the planning of our operations & capacity management by scheduling and communicating cryopreservation and manufacturing slots
  • Lead efforts to support treatment site certification (eg. training, logistics test run)
  • Develop SOPs / WI as needed while working on process flow improvement
  • Support development, build, testing (UAT) and roll-out of new capabilities
  • Development and tracking of metrics
  • Other duties will be assigned, as necessary

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent discipline is required
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Supply Chain Operations
  • Experience in launch or start up environment preferred
