PURPOSE OF THE JOB AND ADDED VALUE

• You support the terminal teams and the projects & engineering organization in the purchasing and contracting of all goods and services in the region.
• The majority of accountability and success is focused on contracting large scale engineering/construction projects, working closely with the project managers at the terminals.
• You will be able to further optimize the sourcing and procurement process and subsequently implement a redesigned and improved process.
• You will be able to prioritize efforts and find the right balance between managing tender processes versus decentralized and routine-based buying to be done mostly under responsibility of the department heads.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PLACE OF WORK

• The procurement manager reports to the General Manager Europe and has one subordinate, a procurement officer.
• Our three terminals in Antwerp and Rotterdam are managed by terminal managers and their respective management teams consisting of an Operations Manager, a Maintenance Manager, a SHHEQ Manager, Finance Manager, HR Manager, Customer Service Manager and Sales Manager.
• There is also a centralized Projects & Engineering organization, responsible for the safe, on budget and on schedule delivery of capex projects.
• We have well defined expansion/growth plans for each of the three terminals.
• People in LBC are complementary to each other, based on different backgrounds, ways of thinking and how to approach/resolve matters. Only through collaboration of these different perspectives can we fulfill our ambition as a group.
• You will hold office either at our Antwerp or at our Rotterdam terminal location.

WHAT WE BELIEVE YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL AS PROCUREMENT MANAGER

Professional education/experience and other requirements:

• Minimum HBO degree, preferably in Business/Economics, Engineering or similar, supported by NEVI 1, NEVI 2, ISFAH or comparable.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in strategic sourcing, preferably in the Oil & Gas, Chemical, Tank terminal, offshore or construction industry.
• Proven track record in driving procurement efficiency and process improvement.
• Fluent Dutch and English is necessary. Any other language is an asset.
• Willingness to travel between Belgium/Antwerp and the Netherlands/Rotterdam area.

Antwerp - key compensation and benefits
