Internship in Product Design and Developing / Lighting Design / Textile Design

Duration: minimum 3 months, minimum 3 days a week

COMPANY PROFILE

At Maison Tricot we are proud of our family heritage with over 40 years of experience in the field of knitwear. Ilia Sigi Eckardt together with mother Hilde Frunt, being considered true experts in their field, have been collaborating with Belgium’s best and brightest designers: Dries Van Noten, Raf Simons, Ann Demeulemeester and many more. The last few years we have been expanding our textile knowledge in the world of interior and outdoor designs developing high end products, always with our crafted touch. Currently collaborating with Tribu, Ethnicraft and more.

Maison Tricot is looking for someone with whom to share their knowhow in designing timeless pieces with a story. They need a passion for combining knitting with functionality and enjoy being in a team. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creating strong visual identities (mood boards, sketching, writing);
  • Assisting in designing Lighting/ homeware and furniture;
  • Assisting with the realization of prototypes;
  • Assisting with final client presentations;
  • Designing 3D digital models;
  • Assisting with marketing and logistics;

PROFILE

  • Able to adapt to each client’s aesthetic;
  • Have a great interest in textiles, especially knitting;
  • Welcome constructive criticism and use it to constantly improve;
  • Like to work in small teams;
  • Confident and enjoy to work independently;
  • CAD Design skills using a variety of software (Photoshop, illustrator, Sketchup etc);
  • Have a good understanding of materials;
  • Enjoys being tactile and experimenting in 3D;
  • Eager to learn and hard working;
  • Plus Point: Driving licence.
