Working for our Digital Department

Our Digital department

develops digital solutions to support the sustainability transition in the energy sector. We design and develop software as a service integrating the different activities of the company to help and empower our customers.

Our teams

are specialized in Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Measurement Systems, Software and Embedded Software Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, and Industrial Cyber Security. Altogether, we develop solutions for both external customers and for the company business lines.

Our solutions

for customers are typically the outcome of close collaborations between business colleagues (energy experts), product owners, and digital experts. We provide solutions of different types such as industrialized software (for commercial solution), prototypes or proofs of concepts (for R&D projects) and various digital services to help people to be more efficient and propose new services.

Context of the job

We are currently in the process of

scaling up our development team

while implementing agile more professionally. By the end of this year, we expect to have a team of a dozen developers divided into 3 sub-teams. These teams have different focuses and ways of working depending on the business they provide service for.

adapt processes to target quality and efficiency in different development contexts (Proof Of Concept, Prototype, Product-grade)

. You will not start from scratch as th

e software team has already some experience with agility but the agile maturity can vary from one sub-team to another.

…you play an active role in …

ü

Coordination:
o

you coordinate the different teams implementing SCRUM methodology

o

you act as a facilitator making sure that the collaboration between all parties runs smoothly

o

you guide your teams in adopting Agile best practices that best suit their working environment and optimize productivity

o

you proactively seek out obstacles and help to unblock them. You do this by suggesting alternative Agile approaches.

o

you communicate progress and impediments with the different stakeholders

ü

Evangelisation:
o

you are an ambassador of the Agile Methodology: you explain to the different stakeholders how to adapt to it and how they can benefit from an Agile development

o

you act as a mentor to less experienced developers, show them the strings, and make them grow.

ü

Organization:
o

You work in close collaboration with the delivery manager to optimize team processes

o

You make sure that processes upstream and downstream of the development teams are adapted to agile delivery. If needed, you can propose adaptations to the company practices or agile processes to ensure smooth project onboarding and software delivery in our specific context.

o

With the help of product owners, you keep an eye on teams’ capacity

In your career…

You have been a Scrum master for at least 3 years

You have learnt to be fluent in English and ideally either French or Dutch

You have been in a management role involving organisation and processes improvements

Having an Agile certification is a plus
