Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced **senior accountant** to join our Finance team. In this pivotal and international role, you will take the lead in managing all technical accounting issues, support the accountants and ensure compliance with BE & local GAAP accounting standards and internal policies.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing complex financial processes, implementing new processes, and driving the adoption of best practices to enhance operational efficiency.

Respons. & areas

  • Lead and manage all technical accounting topics, including regulatory compliance, month-end & year-end closing and annual accounts.
  • Manage the preparation and filing of corporate tax (vennootschapsbelasting) and VAT (BTW) returns, in collaboration with the accountants.
  • Ensure timely compliance with tax deadlines and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather the necessary data for accurate filings.
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of the company’s financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide expert advice on technical accounting matters, addressing challenges related to consolidation, and other advanced topics.
  • Supporting the accounting team, ensuring all technical aspects of financial accounting are executed to the highest standard.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure timely completion of statutory audits.
  • Continuously monitor and improve internal controls related to accounting processes.
  • Assist or lead financial or accounting projects in close collaboration with the Finance Manager.

Experience

  • Master or bachelor degree in economy or accounting or similar through experience
  • Experience in an international environment

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on team collaboration
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Strong knowledge of BE GAAP and interest in tax regulations
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Languages: professional level English
