Senior accountant

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Accountant is a key member of the Finance team and responsible for both GAAP and management reporting as well as managing the annual accounts and VAT filings. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with key stakeholders in the organization and work closely with the broader global Finance team.

  Victaulic Europe – HQ for EMEA region, comprised of various branches and representative offices, requiring detailed regional segmentation for tax and management reporting

• 
  Month End Reporting
  • Ensure closing within deadlines.
  • Ensure accounts and cycles are reconciled. Identify risks/opportunities and act upon it.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reviews & analysis.
  • Ensure the overall completeness and accuracy of the month-end and year-end closes.

• 
  Year End
  • Prepare annual accounts and annual reports.
  • Prepare works council information.

• 
  A-Z responsibility for specific Balance Sheet accounts
  • Main point of contact for external and internal parties
  • Perform all related closing tasks.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reviews & reconciliations.
  • Build up an in depth understanding of all related accounting flows.
  • These blocks will rotate occasionally for personal development and to ensure full back-up and knowledge sharing within the team.

• 
  Internal Controls
  • Identify areas of both financial and business risk and recommend controls to mitigate. those risks in areas of internal control.
  • Ensure strong documentation over internal controls.

• 
  Corporate Tax Compliance
  • Ensure quality regional segmentation for usage by our Tax Manager EMEAI.
  • VAT filings and key contact for VAT matters.
  • Focus on ensuring that statutory and tax planning requirements are aligned, and that adequate documentation is maintained in compliance with tax regulations

• 
  Audit
  • Key point of contact including but not limited to external audit, internal audit, regulatory audits, etc.
  • Prepare and review year-end audit documentation and all related supporting details.

• Improvement projects
  • Lead / participate in projects aiming for (i) optimization of our main processes, (ii) automation and (iii) improved quality.

• 
  Minimum experience of 5 years within a finance team, ideally in an international organization.
• A finance or economics related master’s degree, or equivalent by experience (CPA is a plus).
• Strong VAT and technical accounting knowledge.
• IFRS & USGAAP knowledge is a plus.
• Strong affinity with understanding ERP systems.
• Excellent excel skills.
• Preferably Dutch speaking, and fluent in English.
