Your journey with us

The success of third party relationships is critical to our clients. Our Extended Enterprise (EE) professionals help maximise the benefits gained from the relationships our clients have with various third parties including:

  • Suppliers;
  • Customers;
  • Alliances;
  • Franchisees;
  • Licensees;
  • Distributors; and many more.

Our offering enables clients to understand, assess, manage and mitigate ethical, regulatory, financial and operational risks in their third party population including suppliers, distributors, joint ventures and third party intermediaries.

Extended Enterprise

In Extended Enterprise, we perform a huge variety of projects helping our clients with their third party relationships. For example, third party relationships constitute a significant proportion of the cost and risk base of every organization – it is estimated that over 90% of FCPA violations originate in third party actions, and in many industries as much as 90% of an organization’s scope 3 emissions are generated in the supply chain. We work with some of the world’s leading brands and industries such as media, pharmaceuticals, and luxury goods to help our clients understand and manage the risks posed by third parties across a range of risk domains including all of those recognized as ‘ESG’ risks. Our offerings include helping clients to assess the maturity of their current risk frameworks, design new risk frameworks and operating models, implementing them, and helping to operate the programs on our clients’ behalf.

These are some examples of our common offerings, but in reality the great thing about EE is the flexibility we can offer our clients when they need assistance with their business partner relationships. We respond to these situations in order to assist them, meaning we are able to tailor each project to the unique needs of our clients.

Responsibilities

The work you perform will help you develop an understanding of:

  • The different third party relationships an organization may have across different industries;
  • The regulations that drive the requirements around third party risk management;
  • The drivers and business decisions our clients face when assessing their third parties;
  • The operational processes and controls required by an organization to effectively monitor its third party relationships; and
  • The operating model (organizational model, governance, roles and responsibilities) required to deliver an effective third party risk management framework.

A typical EE advisory engagement will involve:

Advisory engagements usually involve working as part of a small team (typically 3-6 people) to embed yourselves for a fixed period of time alongside a team of client stakeholders and work collaboratively to deliver positive, high value programs of change / improvement for our clients. They require a high degree of stakeholder management and change management activity as well as strong governance and project management. The key phases of an advisory engagement usually include benchmarking existing capability, designing, and developing an enhanced capability, building or implementing that enhanced capability and supporting the client to adopt and embed the new way of working. Advisory engagements can range in duration from 6-8 weeks for the smaller programs through to 12-24 months for the larger programs.
