Job Description

Carmeuse is looking for a Senior General Ledger Accountant! Reporting directly to the Accounting Director, you’ll have the opportunity to work within a team of several people and bring your energy to design new projects.

Your tasks
  • Monthly closing from A-Z in accordance with BE GAAP
  • Monthly review of balance sheet and P&L before upload in group reporting
  • Preparation VAT and intrastate declarations / statistics BNB-NBB
  • Group reporting in consolidation tool (Tagetik) and preparation of related additional information
  • Verification intercompany transactions in Tagetik
  • Support Credit collection
  • Calculation of income taxes
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts
  • Regular contact with other departments (controlling, tax, treasury, corporate finance)
  • Collaboration with auditor
  • Account reconciliation management
  • Performing analysis on specific GL accounts

Your responsibilities:

As Senior General Ledger Accountant, you take ‘ownership’ of the assigned companies – managing from A to Z and perform skeptical analysis on final figures. Y ou deliver reliable figures for statutory and group purposes. You will support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable department.

Your Profile
  • Basic requirements
  • Educated to graduate degree in accounting or to bachelor degree level in business management
  • Knowledge of general ledger accounting under BE GAAP
  • Knowledge on Belgian VAT and income taxes
  • Experience in a similar function: 5 to 10 years
  • Language skills:
    • French environment
    • Good written and oral English language skills
    • Basic knowledge of Dutch language is a plus
  • Needed knowledges
  • SAP FI/CO
  • ACCON (preparation NBB/BNB)
  • Experience in group reporting tool Tagetik is a plus
