Senior Internal Auditor

Our people are our most valuable asset. To support and reinforce our Finance team we are looking for a Senior Internal Auditor.

Mission

The Internal Audit function is an independent and objective assurance and consulting activity that is guided by a philosophy of adding value to improve the operations of the organization. It assists an organization in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the organization’s risk management, control and governance process.


Main responsibilities and key tasks

As a Senior Internal Auditor, you are responsible for executing internal audit assignments, therefore:

  • You identify risks, problem areas and opportunities by means of executing internal audits. You make recommendations and draw up plans of action to improve the quality of the internal control system and the effectiveness and efficiency of the business;
  • You manage individual audit assignments from start to finish;
  • You monitor the implementation of action plans to ensure that recommendations are timely implemented;
  • You identify, develop and promote best practices for internal audits in order to expand operational efficiency;
  • Your tasks include actively taking part in the development of various internal control and risk related projects;
  • You report to the Global Audit Manager.

Background and Experience

The ideal Senior Internal Auditor holds a master’s degree in Economics and acquired at least 4, ideally 5 - 8 year work experience in an internal or external audit function:

  • Has a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, knowledge of SAP is a strong asset
  • Has a critical mind-set and strong analytical skills
  • Is a profound team player with excellent communication skills
  • Has the ability to maintain satisfactory relationships with auditees and other stakeholders
  • Can express himself fluently in Dutch and English, other languages are a plus
  • Enjoys business travel up to 40%
