(Senior) Manager - Deals Analytics

Are you particularly fascinated by Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) as well as the techy side of business and do you want to work on projects turning business data into meaningful insights? Then the PwC’s Deal Analytics team might be something for you!

In the fast-paced M&A space, data is a key source of value creation. Yet, companies are struggling to use it to their advantage. This is where PwC’s Deal Analytics team comes into play. We put the data to work and provide insights to buyers and/or sellers; helping them to gain comfort over (historical) performance or identify opportunities. Leveraging data from companies’ sales, marketing, financial and operational systems but also external datasets, we map the value drivers of a business, evaluate hypotheses about (future) company success and advice on opportunities (and treats). We’re using a wide package of tools and techniques to optimally help our clients.

As a Manager,you’ll first of all drive our client projects but next to that will also have the chance to help to further grow our team and its service offerings.

What you will learn and do

• Manage exciting projects, as a whole or a dedicated data workstream:

  • Harness the power of data and analytics to create (or break) a compelling story around a target business;

  • Unlock value potential after a deal;

  • Guide your team in successfully performing various analysis;

  • Liaise with clients, advisors and/or other PwC teams to provide robust, data-driven insights (e.g. into business and value drivers)

• Work across the entire data-lifecycle:

  • Extract, transform and load (ETL) client and alternative data using a variety of tools;

  • Automate manual processes to improve efficiency;

  • Use e.g. Alteryx, R or Python to build more complex analyses

  • Create insightful visualizations using e.g. Power BI or Tableau

• Help our Deals Analytics team to further grow:

  • Steer and support more junior colleagues in their daily work;

  • Contribute to commercial activities, e.g. proposal writing our client presentations;

  • Explore and build new solutions and ideas for advanced analysis;

  • Be a digital game changer within the deals practice and beyond.
    

Who you are, what you’re like

• Earned a degree in a technology-related program, mathematics, statistics, civil or business engineering.

• Worked as a data analyst/ data scientist/data engineer or BI-consultant/developer in a similar consulting environment with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

• An analytical mind with a good dose of business sense.

• Communicate efficiently and effectively, with different audience on complex analyses.

• Fluency in English; also in Dutch and/or French.

• An understanding of basic financial, accounting and commercial principles.

• Experience in working a range of data tools and solutions like:

  • ETL-tools such as Alteryx, SSIS, SQL or equivalent;

  • R, Python or other scripting/statistical tools;

  • Visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau or equivalent;

  • Microsoft Office (Excel).
