Position title: Senior Manager, Global Marketing

Location: Sint-Niklaas, BE (hybrid working)

Reports to: Director, Global Marketing

Contract type: Permanent, full-time

Job Summary

As a Sr. Manager, Global Marketing you will develop category leadership stories and an innovation roadmap focusing on driving growth for DYMO brand. You will own the development and manage the execution of global brand strategy and product innovation.

Your focus will be on successfully launching ongoing innovation projects, identifying new innovation concept that drive meaningful, profitable and sustainable growth for DYMO.

You will have 3 direct reports based in different countries and work cross-functionally with various teams including i.a. R&D, Quality, Graphics, Trade Marketing, Sales, CMI, Finance and Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities

Business Management
  • Translate business strategy into innovation roadmap and marketplace activities with understanding of underlying financials including ROI
  • Leverage financial analyses to understand implication of innovation and marketplace activities
  • Develop marketing budgets by project or product line, and define funding guidelines to ensure optimal execution of tactics. Coordinate reactions necessary as business deviates from budget.
Portfolio Optimization & Innovation
  • Develops optimal global product assortment based on market trends and gaps in the portfolio.
  • Develops 5+ year Innovation Funnel in line with brand strategy bringing new or enhanced consumer benefits, and/or entering new markets
  • Supports portfolio management process by identifying Product Lines and SKUs to deprioritize/exit based on performance, margin, and as new innovation comes to market.
  • Leads development of New Product Innovation communication and commercialization strategy, and execution there-off inclusive of launch asset development considering omni-channel approach (e.g. verbal assets, key visual, videos, social media & ecommerce assets…)
  • Creates selling stories for Innovation, and supports selling of existing products lines
  • Maintains high quality of product portfolio by partnering closely with R&D, and Quality teams
  • Prioritize, resource and lead projects effectively.
Brand Communications & Category Expertise
  • Develops communication materials for variety of consumer groups and product families to achieve
  • Act as subject matter expert of DYMO and labeling category, and provide thought leadership to internal constituents as well as external customers.
  • Provides support to Trade Marketing counterparts in the development and creation of communication materials for the optimal distribution, shelving, pricing and merchandising tactics for each key retailer
  • Oversees and approves Brand Communications, and ensures Brand Communications assets align to Brand Positioning & Identity guidelines
  • Oversees and executes all packaging updates
Reporting, Insights and Data Analytics
  • Understand category and consumer trends, target consumer habits and usages and uses data to develop innovation funnel and drive successful communication & commercialization strategies
  • Understand category purchase drivers, trip missions, shopper need states, etc. and liaise with Trade Marketing, eCommerce, Sales Planning and Sales teams on executional strategies.
  • Provide strategic category direction based on syndicated data.
  • Frames gap in Consumer or Shopper knowledge and works with CMI to define research projects
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (emphasis in business/marketing or related field), MBA or other advanced degree highly preferred
  • 8+ years of experience working with a leading CPG or technology company
  • Experienced in marketing and developing products preferably for B2B markets
  • Advanced analytical skills and computer software proficiency (e.g. MS Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Willing to travel ~25% of the time, with ability to travel internationally
Preferred
  • Demonstrated success in New Product Development and in-market launches, and Product Idea/Concept Generation
  • Strategic, innovative thinking, self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with aggressive deadlines
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Multi-channel experience, consumer and shopper understanding
  • Direct and perform analysis across a wide variety of category business issues and make fact based recommendations presented in a concise data-driven approach
  • Must be able to link business objectives with winning growth strategies
  • Convey complex issues brilliantly with excellent communication and presentation skills to both peers and senior leaders
