International TA Health Policy Senior Manager

What you will do
In this vital role you will support the development and execution of Amgen’s international health policy strategies in major markets around the world for the General Medicine TA. The position reports to the Director of International TA Health Policy, General Medicine in the Global Government Affairs and Policy (GGA&P) organization.
- Assist the Director with the development and execution of health policy strategies that can support patient access to innovation and better care in General Medicine TA.
- Research and draft policy positioning on priority General Medicine issues.
- Collaborate with the Global Cross-Functional Brand Teams to ensure those perspectives and insights are taken into consideration for the development of the health policy strategies and tactical plans.
- Partner with the Global Cross-Functional Brand Teams to ensure health policy landscaping analysis and specific health policy initiatives are integrated into global brand plans of launch and pipeline products.
- Support engagement with international institutions, health policy service providers, academic and think tank groups to conduct research, build foundational strategic policy alliances, materials and tools and drive policy change in areas of importance to Amgen’s policy agenda.
- Ensure that Amgen has deep and detailed understanding of existing and emerging health policy trends and opportunities in major markets.
- Engage with GA related functions in countries to identify health policy related challenges for General Medicine therapies.
- Assist the Director and the International Policy teams in delivering policy training and other capability building projects.

You would be joining a highly motivated, energized and experienced team that interacts with external health policy decision makers and key influencers at international level to shape policies that have a strong positive impact on patients’ lives. Our ambition is, in coordination with our internal Therapeutic Area cross-functional teams at global and local levels, to transform the healthcare systems to best serve cardiovascular, osteoporosis, metabolic disease and inflammation patients in the ex-US geographies.

What we expect of you
We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. What we seek in you as an experienced professional, are these qualifications and skills:
- Master’s degree and 4 years of health policy and/or access and/or health economics experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of health policy and/or access and/or health economics experience
- In-depth knowledge of the TA related healthcare policy landscape, pharmaceutical reimbursement, healthcare financing systems and access policy challenges in ex-US countries, with a focus on providing pragmatic policy solutions in major markets.
- Ability to identify the right data and execute the right analyses to properly assess the impact of policy scenarios and options.
- Demonstrated broad understanding of the current challenges and priorities of external stakeholders, namely policymakers.
- Seeks to advance new ideas and approaches to health policy development to ensure that Amgen adapts to the changing landscape; is solution oriented in policy development.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a complex internal environment, influence senior leadership, and provide support to multiple country markets.
- Ability to work effectively across diverse cultures and health systems, adapting corporate policy positions to meets the needs of country teams.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, negotiate and socialize well-researched and considered policy positions.
- Demonstrated ability to position Amgen as credible voice in evolving health policy debates on the value of medicines with policy makers in mature and emerging markets; drive policies and strategies that have a positive impact with a focus on long-term engagement.
- Experience in working at a regional or global level in a multi-national organization.
- Excellent command of the English language.
