Job Purpose
This role strategically and operationally supports the Global Vaccines Medical Affairs organization to become transformative in how we engage with our customers (HCPs, pharmacists, External Experts, Consumers) through fundamental digitalization and innovation. The role embraces change and is recognized as a “Change Agent” for the organization.
The Senior Digital and Innovation Specialist drives the pipeline planning process, including different activities related to identification, idea generation, development and implementation of solutions to address our external stakeholder’s needs and improve how we engage with them by considering Digital Data and Analytics as key components.
This role supports the Medical Innovation and Digital Engagement Lead to define the vision and strategic objectives of the teams initiatives, liaise with senior stakeholders to align with GSK objectives and seek champions for projects, at the same time is the best suited as deputy for the Medical Innovation Lead.
Your Responsibilities
Your role will include the following responsibilities:
- Leading critical website design projects, including requirements definition, implementation, with web analytics and web content development / best practices
- Work in a cross-functional environment to lead and execute key Medical/ Vaccines innovation and strategic digital pilots, then working Global and Market-specific stakeholders (senior leadership, brand teams, market/LOC teams) brands to embed and implement the pilots
- Understand the HCP customer journey, customer personas, channel preferences, etc. and leverage key insights and experience to drive decision-making and discussions
- Support the planning and execution of the Innovation process for delivery of solutions responding to specific business needs following an agile methodology, including the identification of customer pains and gains, generation of ideas, development and roll-out of solutions for external engagement in scientific and/or promotional settings
- Lead ideation sessions, familiarizing and applying concept of design thinking and agile methodologies, then working with senior internal and external stakeholders to align to specific strategies and priorities.
- Support change management around digital transformation and helping to embed a customer-centric, data-driven mindset across the organization
- Support in defining the fundamental digitalization strategy for Vaccines in alignment with Corporate; feed into the corporate digital landscape Vaccines projects for further scaling.
- Empowered to manage activities and relationships with external agencies controlling project delivery, execute project tasks, track and monitor progress against milestones, deliverables, timings and success measures with a particular focus on measurable contribution to the company-defined Performance KPIs and corporate reputation
- Contribute to external landscape analysis in the field of digital and novel solutions for scientific interactions, identify areas where there is a need for innovative solutions, embracing the fast-moving technological landscape to take external engagement to the ‘next level’
- Identify new and/or underserved external audiences and better understand their needs and evolution of their preferences when it comes to external engagement with Vaccines
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including 3rd parties (vendors, agencies)
Basic Qualifications
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- 2 years of experience in Marketing-related role or a related strategic engagement role
- Experience in website design projects, including working with cross-functional teams, vendors
- Ability to effectively manage business risk and strategic decision making while having technical and project management skills to lead and deliver specific projects
- Pharma or Vaccines (Medical or Commercial) knowledge
- Direct operational, project management experience preferably in digital environment
- Strong communication skills
- Lead cross functional projects and teams
- High level of attention to detail
- Preferred experience working with Agile, scrums, sprints environments
- Fluency in English
If you have the following characteristics it would be a plus:
- Adaptive and fast learning mindset, project management skills, strong organization and communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to manage risk and uncertainty are all necessary for the job.
- 3+ years of experience in Marketing-related role or a related strategic engagement role
- Broad experience in website design projects, including requirements definition, implementation, working extensively with cross-functional teams, vendors, leading discussions on website design principles and considerations, web analytics and web content development / best practices.
- Existing knowledge of current GSK structure and culture is a plus.
- A proactive self-starter who identifies opportunities and potential problems to address them effectively via digital solutions
- Knowledge, passion, and curiosity about digital technology, emerging trendsand its impact on healthcare sector (external engagement)
- Customer centric and customer journey focused
- Data-driven, leverages insights and learnings to drive discussions
- Experience working with digital/medical agencies, and understanding of their operating model
