Position Description

Tax Specialist

Job Purpose

The tax specialist will take care of all Bridgestone tax matters in Belgium and the Netherlands (to exception of customs), covering the EMIA Headquarters, the Sales branch and the retail entities controlled by Bridgestone.

She/he will report to the Head of Tax – EMIA and will be part of the EMIA Tax Center of Excellence, working closely with Bridgestone TP Advisor, VAT Advisor and Head of EU Direct Tax.

Main Responsibilities

You actively participate in tax strategy by becoming a true Business Partner being integrated in the business decision process. The tax specialist shall:
  • Manage all compliance activities for direct tax in Belgium and the Netherlands
  • Ensure the timely submission of all tax filing requirements with appropriate and consistent disclosures
  • Ensure the timely payment of tax liabilities and appropriate retention of information
  • Coordinate the tax accounting activities and manage the current and deferred tax positions
  • Manage Tax audits and ad-hoc tax authorities requests for information
  • Contribute to a fair picture of direct tax assets and liabilities
  • Contribute to the Japanese CFC/Tax haven reporting requirements of the BSEMIA group
  • Support the increase of quality and transparency efforts in compliance activities
  • Advise the organization on additional taxes and new future tax developments beyond pure direct and indirect tax, such as M&A
Profile
  • Bachelor/Master in Tax or equivalent
  • Intermediate to advanced applications software expertise (MS Office and SAP)
  • Advanced expertise in taxes mainly in the area of Belgium direct tax and basic knowledge in VAT

  • Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables

  • Language skills: Good knowledge of Dutch and English
