About Our Client

Privately held chemical company (SME size) that is active in production and an international supplier of glass films and foils, mainly focused on the architectural and automotive market.

Job Description

The Technology & Product Director will be responsible for developing new business opportunities in the glass industry. The director will have to understand customer needs and be able to supervise a product pipeline accordingly. Furthermore:

  • Stay aware of the trend within the market segment, its impact on the commercial portfolio and priorities of the new product development pipeline.
  • Provide application development support and validate product attributes.
  • Translate customer and industry needs into product opportunities.
  • Part of the Management Team and is able on a technical and strategical level to align.

The Successful Applicant

The client is looking for an experienced professional with a master’s degree in chemical engineering / chemistry or equivalent through experience, a PhD Degree is a plus.

In addition:

  • Strong technical (R&D) background and inspired by the architectural glass or similar industry.
  • Strong interest in application development and product innovation.
  • Team player with leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to develop a deep network in the industry.
  • Compelling communication and training skills.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required. Other European language skills are appreciated.
  • Motivated and able to work both independently and in cross functional teams.
