Badenoch+Clark is looking for an User Researcher for R&D to join Toyota HQ, Evere.

This position would be an interim contract (weekly renewed) till 30.06.25

Toyota Motor Europe R&D centre is responsible for planning, development and production support of vehicles aimed at - and locally produced for - the European market. The Vehicle Performance Engineering (VPE) – Vehicle User Experience (UX) team is responsible for ensuring a good overall user experience, by the HMI (Human-Machine Interaction) and Ergonomics (physical and cognitive) performance of vehicles, both during actual vehicle development and in research activities.

In the vehicle UX division we conduct research to collect and analyze customer behavior through a variety of qualitative and/or quantitative methods and collaborate with other functions to understand and incorporate the technical requirements into research.

Your responsibilities

• You will be contributing to improve the experience (subjective perception, emotions, engagement) that users have with future products and doing so through research projects involving activities related to “understanding” (e.g. user research, desk research), “proposing” (e.g. interaction, service design) and “testing” (e.g. quantitative and qualitative assessment)
• You will be gathering and organising insights from related fields. Trends (design, societal evolutions new business, technology…) research
• You will be proceeding creative process (creativity moderation, storyboarding…) and concept development in various contexts (next generation vehicle, future cockpit experience…)
• You will be collaborating on concept evaluation and inclusiveness matrix activity through protocol definition, survey moderation and result analysis

Your profile

• You are fluent in English (Toyota Motor Europe’s business language), additional European language skills are an asset
• You have a master in Vehicle User Experience, Engineering, Human Factors or Industrial Design
• You are passionate about user centred design, design thinking, storytelling, and early design stages
• You are able to formalize concepts through sketches and create storyboard scenarios
• You are experienced user of Excel for data analysis
• Experience with digital tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign are a strong asset
• Open minded, with interest in different cultures and uses
