Make your mark for patientsWe are looking for a motivated Bio Delivery Cluster Lead able to work in highly dynamic environment to join us in our Global Engineering department part of Supply & Technology Solution team.About The RoleThe Bio Projects Delivery Lead is heading and executing from concept design to handover a portfolio of specific engineering projects directly linked to UCB 10-year plan and strategy.He is leading a team of Project engineering leaders & discipline engineers to deliver “best in class” global portfolio that meets strict safety, quality, cost and schedule requirements.The Bio portfolio is booming with a strong pipeline of products to improve the lives of people living with severe diseases. The portfolio includes all Active Bio Ingredients, fill and finish and packaging projects including upgrades or extensions of current manufacturing processes & facilities. The portfolio impacts all UCB sites especially Manufacturing in Belgium & Switzerland.The Bio Projects Delivery Lead is a recognized leader with strong technical skills, a proven success track record of portfolio management, project management mastery and the ability to deal with complexity.Who will you work withThe Bio Delivery Cluster Lead is directly reporting to the Head of Delivery but will also collaborate closely with other businesses department & engineering departments – PMO, Asset Management or Business partners to provide best solution to meet customer expectations.What will you doThe Bio Projects Delivery Lead Ensures Success ByPeople

  • Supporting the cluster team as well as the Global Engineering Team to drive business performance consistent with the UCB’s core values of Patient Value Strategy.
  • Establishing partnerships with contractors & engineering firms to ensure proper support in delivering the portfolio.
  • Ensuring that the required resources/competencies are onboard
Safety
  • Deploying Safety culture within his team
  • Being a safety ambassador - key representative of “safety first” in everything he’s doing
  • Ensuring safety in execution
  • Ensuring safety compliance with UCB & local country rules
  • Portfolio & projects
  • Being the first point of contact for all projects to be delivered within his cluster and approving available feasibility studies
  • Aligning with Technical Standards & Strategy
  • Ensuring cGMPs, SOPs, UCB standards and Good Engineering Practices are appropriately integrated.
  • Ensuring the technical follow-up of all projects in his cluster
  • Ensuring Lean principles like Tiers meetings, KPIs, continuous improvement, … are in place and followed.
  • Reviewing cost estimates and planning for engineering activities
  • Bringing technical expertise to ensure the best technical solution is provided to our customers
  • Ensure the right level of internal + external stakeholder’s management and involvement in the portfolio to guarantee strong customer satisfaction
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
  • Master’s Degree.
  • Certification: PMI or equivalent
  • Demonstrated success with at least 10+ years of experience in design and execution, either as a client or service provider, and ideally in biopharma, life sciences or another highly regulated industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Bio manufacturing including fill & finish, formulation, and bio substance.
  • Strong experience managing engineering team and/or engineering services & leadership experience of skilled internal and external resources in international environment
  • Experience in projects/portfolio management
  • Experience managing capital budgets in diverse regulations and market constraints, meeting financial targets, and driving cost-optimization with best strategies and partnership
  • Good understanding of EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) and Quality aspects
  • Experience with deployment of EPCM and/or in Design & Build contracting models
  • Full professional proficiency in French and English (both oral and written)
  • Willing to travel up to 20% (mainly across Europe)
